More Than A Soccer Club
At Lexington Eagles, we believe that youth soccer should be about more than developing better players. It should be an opportunity to develop better people. Our club is built around a simple commitment: we are intentional about investing in our players, families, coaches, and community. That intentionality shapes how we train, compete, communicate, lead, and care for one another.
Our standards are designed to create a culture where players are challenged to pursue excellence while understanding that their value is not determined by their performance.
A Culture Built on Purpose
First and foremost, we will embody our virtues of Joy, Integrity, Faithfulness, and Courage. We are unashamed of our commitment to our faith and our ministry and use our faith as the foundation of building our club.
Our club culture is also grounded in five core values:
Intentionality. Excellence. Community. Joy. Faith.
We want our players to learn how to compete with courage and integrity, respond to challenges with resilience, take ownership of their growth, and serve those around them. We want soccer to be challenging and competitive while remaining a place where players can experience joy, build meaningful relationships, and grow as young people.
We Develop the Whole Person
We believe character doesn't simply happen because a young person plays sports. It has to be intentionally developed. Our coaches are expected to model the character we ask of our players, while players are challenged to grow in accountability, coachability, leadership, integrity, humility, and responsibility. Our Christian faith provides the foundation for these values and shapes how we approach both competition and relationships.
We Believe in Honest Relationships
Trust requires honest communication. We expect our coaches to communicate clearly and transparently with players and families, including when conversations are difficult. At the same time, we want to empower our players to develop their own relationships with their coaches and learn to communicate, advocate for themselves, and take ownership of their development.
We Pursue Excellence Without Making Performance Our Identity
We want our teams to compete. We want our players to work hard. We want to win. But we don't believe winning is the only measure of success. We also look at process, personal growth, relationships, character, and well-being. We want players to learn how to pursue excellence without allowing performance to determine their identity or worth.
We Ask Players, Parents, and Coaches to Own the Culture
A strong club culture cannot be created by coaches alone. Players are expected to show up prepared, compete, listen, grow, and support their teammates. Parents are expected to encourage the entire team, respect coaches and officials, and help create a positive environment. Coaches are held to high standards of leadership, preparation, communication, consistency, and character.
Everyone contributes to the culture.
Christ at the Center
As a ministry of soccer, our faith isn't something we add to the experience. It is foundational to who we are. We seek to create teams where players are welcomed wherever they are in their faith journey while being encouraged to grow in character, leadership, and their relationship with Christ.
